1) How do I find the BioScience Bead Equivalent to the product or Brand Name of Beads I'm currently using?
To find the BioScience Equivalent Bead to the one you're currently using CLICK HERE
2) Do you have agarose bead products
comparable to the recently discontinued line of BioRad
Agarose Beads (i.e. BioGel-A)?
Yes.
To obtain product equivalents, go to the “Order or Inquiry” page
and follow
the instructions there for inquiries.
3) Intracellular magnetic bead applications:
can BioScience Magnetic Beads be used for this ?
No.
These applications require sub-micron sized magnetic beads in
order
to be taken into the cell by phagocytosis. In contrast,
Bioscience Magnetic beads range upwards from 15-20 µ and
are designed for rapid, magnetic, bioaffinity separations.
4) Is there a minimum volume requirement
for specialty or custom-bead orders?
No. The BSD technology allows for a wide selection of production volumes,
based on demand; but, the cost/unit varies inversely with purchase volume.
5) Re: Preshipment samples: is it
possible to obtain them for specialty beads before purchasing
them in bulk quantities?
Yes. A prototype or preshipment sample sample of your specialty
bead can be
sent for your evaluation and approval before purchasing
a larger quantiy. This can also
be done for bulk purchases (> 1 L) of standard BioScience
Bead products to be used in
certain research applications. Preshipment or prototype samples can
be prepared in
small quantities at no charge other than paying their preferred mode
of shipment.
6) Pricing and Order Turnaround :
How is it determined?
For
standard bead products, order processing & shipment typically
occurs within
48 hours. For specialty bead products, orders are placed in an order queue
and the
production and shipment date are estimated and communicated by email.
A higher priority in the production queue is an option but, like express shipment,
does
cost somewhat more.
7) Why does your logo look like a "Yin Yang" symbol ?
The ancient Chinese Tai-chi or Yin Yang symbol depicts the fact that all things
in
nature can be considered to have both yin and yang components. This symbol
has been
adapted in the BioScience Bead logo to emphasize both the range of bead sizes
available and also the ability of bead functionality to be altered by micron-sized
inclusions
within the beads.

science, click here to be connected to an excellent website on the subject.
Note: If your question is still unanswered, please use the "Contact" page to ask our technical staff for further assistance. Prior to doing so, it is sometimes helpful to consult the “Standard and Specialty Bead Options” page
for information which might tend to answer or narrow
the focus of your question. |
